ℹ️Creating Local Server
This guide will walk you through the process of installing Laragon in a portable setup, running it, and ensuring everything is working correctly.
What is Laragon?
Laragon is a universal, portable, fast, and easy-to-use local development environment. With Laragon, you can run a web server (Apache/Nginx), a database (MySQL/MariaDB), and various programming languages (PHP, Node.js, Python, etc.) on your Windows computer without a complicated setup process.
Step 1: Download Laragon
First, we will download the correct version of Laragon.
Open the Laragon releases page on GitHub using the link below.
Download the
laragon-6.0.0.zipfile.
Important: Version 6.0.0 is the last full version that is completely free. Newer versions may require a paid license to access all of their features.
Step 2: Extract & Place the Folder
Since we are using the portable version, our "installation" process is simply to extract and place the folder in the correct location.
After the download is complete, right-click the
laragon-6.0.0.zipfile and select Extract All... or use an application like WinRAR/7-Zip.You will get a folder named
laragon-6.0.0.Move this
laragon-6.0.0folder to the root of yourC:\drive.Rename the folder from
laragon-6.0.0tolaragon.
✅ Ensure the final result is correct: Your Laragon folder path should now be C:\laragon.
Step 3: Running Laragon
Now that everything is in place, let's run Laragon.
Open the
C:\laragonfolder.Find and double-click the
laragon.exefile.The first time you run it, Windows may display a User Account Control (UAC) window asking for permission. Click Yes to continue.
After running it, the main Laragon window will appear.

Step 4: Starting & Stopping the Server
You can control the server from the main window or from the icon in the System Tray.
Via the Main Window
Click the
Start Allbutton to turn on all services (Apache, MySQL, etc.).The button will then change to
Stopto turn off all services.
Via the System Tray (Icon in the Bottom-Right Corner)
If you close the main window, Laragon will continue to run in the background. You can access it from the Laragon elephant icon in your System Tray (near the clock).

Right-clicking the icon will bring up a quick menu:
Start All: To start all services.
Stop: To stop all services.
Laragon -> Web: To open

Laragon -> Terminal: To open the terminal/command line.
Step 5: Verifying the Installation
The final step is to make sure your server is actually running.
Ensure you have clicked

Type

If everything is working correctly, you will see Laragon's default dashboard page, which displays version information for PHP, MySQL, and other services.
